When discussion soteriology the doctrines of salvation the Ordo salutis (order of salvation) often comes up. Does regeneration being made alive come before faith? Or does faith lead to regeneration? Vos discusses the doctrine and various views. One thing to note is Calvin's perspective stems from the doctrine of union with Christ. Regeneration is the result of our union with Jesus.
